Derek Jeter offers one fan the chance of a lifetime

Derek Jeter, the Turn 2 Foundation, and charity crowdfunding site Jumbow have teamed up to offer one lucky fan (and three of his friends) the chance of a lifetime. A simple $10 raffle ticket can give you access to private, game day experience with the Yankees star himself.

The prize begins with a lunch for four with Jeter at one of his favorite restaurants in Manhattan. The lucky foursome will then ride with Derek in his car to Yankee Stadium, and experience a behind-the-scenes tour of the iconic arena. When the team takes the field to warm-up, you and your friends will meet the players and get autographs before heading to Jeter’s luxury suite to watch the game.

The amazing experience doesn’t end there, however. The lucky winner will also get a scoreboard greeting, and will take home a game-used glove with “Derek Jeter” stitched on the outside and signed by Jeter. A letter of authenticity is included.

Proceeds from the once-in-a-lifetime raffle benefit Jeter’s Turn 2 Foundation—a 501(c)(3) that provides opportunities for children to avoid negative influences such as drugs and alcohol, and “Turn 2” better decisions and a healthy lifestyle. The organization was founded in 1996, and has provided nearly $20 million in grants to youth programs across the country.

Turn 2’s “Jeter’s Leaders” program develops leadership qualities in high school students, and encourages them to make social changes in their own communities. The Leaders become positive examples in their schools and to their peers – promoting education, a drug and alcohol-free lifestyle, and community service.

The students are developed into Leaders through workshops, mentoring, college visits, life skills training, and many other services. There is also an internship initiative for the Leaders and Leaders alumni, bi-annual conferences, and community service projects to keep the youth engaged. Purchasing a raffle ticket on Jumbow supports these events, and the costs of maintaining the programs in multiple cities.

"I’m really excited the Turn 2 Foundation and Jumbow have partnered to create a campaign that will support the Jeter’s Leaders program," Jeter said in a statement. "To be able to say thank you to the fans who have stood behind me throughout my career while knowing this will also help further the mission of Turn 2 is a real win-win."
