Derek Hough might not be on “Dancing With the Stars” anymore? Joining Len Goodman on questioning on whether or not returning to the popular reality competition, it appears that Derek is unconvinced to commit to another season just yet. As one of the popular dancers on the show, the fans are shocked that the star would need to even be convinced to be part of the upcoming season. According to WetPaint on Friday, the professional dancer is hinting he might not be back for the upcoming season which is set to hit the airwaves in the fall.

Sharing his concerns about the show, Derek Hough confirmed his hesitations in being part of the show in his TV Guide blog on Wednesday. It’s obvious the question of progress of the future has the dancer wondering where to go next. Confirming that working with Amy Purdy was truly a fulfilling experience the dancer needs to know that next season he can again make a difference. Add all the changes of the show and the next season might be quite different than previous shows.

It sounds like Derek Hough is extremely happy with his second place finish for the season so the reason he might leave has nothing to do with the competition placement. The professional dancer has brought the best of his abilities to the dance floor and it was well received by the viewers on every level.

While being challenged is important for anyone’s career, there isn't any doubt that “Dancing With the Stars” is all about entertaining the fans. Looking to make viewers excited about celebrities who dance in Hollywood, the big goal is ratings for ABC. Which is why fans could completely understand Derek Hough’s exit from the show as he too has to fulfill his dream. And that dream might be more than a performance every week for live television.
