A Bibb County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested Tuesday for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl and pointing a gun at her and her male companion in the early morning hours.
The deputy, who may end up losing his job, also allegedly offered the girl money for sex, according to a media report.
Kenneth Lee Brown, 49, was charged with several felonies including: enticing a child for indecent purposes; child molestation; two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. He was also charged with violation of oath of office, the sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Randy Gonzalez said.
Investigators said around 12:30 a.m. Brown allegedly approached a 14-year-old girl at an apartment complex at 2050 Old Clinton Road for sexual purposes. It's uclear if Brown live in the area.
He also allegedly touched the girl in appropriate manner repeatedly, even after she told him to stop, Gonzalez said in a news release. While groping the girl, he allegedly offered her money, saying, “I want to buy some” sex, according to The Telegraph in Macon.
During the incident, investigators said Brown allegedly pointed a gun at a 19-year-old male and at the girl when she attempted to help her companion.
So far, no bond has been set for the deputy who remained in the Bibb County jail Tuesday night, Gonzalez said.
Sheriff Davis said Brown’s termination is pending the results of an internal investigation.
It’s unclear if the deputy knew the girl or the 19-year-old. It’s also unclear if the gun he allegedly used was issued by the department.
