Why is the Dept. of Education purchasing SWAT style weapons? You are about to find out.
In case you missed it, last year National Gun Rights Examiner - David Codrea asked why in this article- Short barrel shotguns for Department of Education?
Alarmingly a news report has surfaced that gives us insight on the use of these shotguns and you are going to be shocked!
The U.S. Dept. of Education and/or what they are now claiming their own "Inspector General Office" has now joined the ranks of other federal agencies that will knock doors down and perform police raids.
Yes, it really happened in Stockton CA. in a news release by News-10 out of Saramento titled- Questions surround feds' raid of Stockton home. To see the scope of the search warrant click here
The Stockton Police said it was not their operation and they had a request from "federal agents to provide one officer and one patrol car". But it appears that the Stockton police went a little further and detained Mr. Wright and his children for several hours.
The Dept. of Educations victim Kenneth Wright told of the account- officers woke his three young children, ages 3, 7, and 11 putting them along with him in a police car for six hours.
Isn't this taking "no child left behind" a little to far?
On a positive note, see what Rep. Allen Jaggi says about this--
Wyoming State Representative Allen Jaggi (R-Uinta) is a strong supporter of Sheriffs First Legislation. This would make federal agents subject to a Wyoming Sheriffs jurisdiction first by allowing a locally elected CLOE (Chief Law Enforcement Officer's) review any actions by federal agents.
Rep. Allen Jaggi said, "I believe an event where a usually docile branch of the federal government like the Dept. of Education is now storming the doors of citizen affirms that we must move forward with legislation to protect the rights of Wyoming citizens". Rep. Jaggi also said "who is better to make sure things are kosher than a sheriff that was duly elected to protect the citizens of a county".
I believe Rep. Jaggi has it right, if you agree drop him an email here.
Anthony Bouchard is a staunch supporter of the Bill of Rights and limited government - he is also the Director of WyGO - Wyoming Gun Owners Association, Wyoming's Only No-Compromise Gun-Rights Organization.
