Electronic music giants Depeche Mode will tour North America in 2013 as part of The Delta Machine World Tour. Nineteen dates have been initially confirmed, with the tour following on the heels of a European stadium tour that will begin in Tel Aviv. Dates were announced via Live Nation on March 11.
The North American tour will commence in the Midwest with the first date at Detroit's DTE Energy Music Theatre on Thursday, Aug. 22. It will feature stops in Chicago, Washington D.C., Atlanta and two dates in Los Angeles before wrapping up in Phoenix, Ariz. on Oct. 8. All dates are subject to change and other shows could be added. The full list of confirmed dates are provided below. Depeche Mode last headlined Chicago at Lollapalooza in 2009.
Depeche Mode have sold over 100 million albums worldwide and followed the British New Wave invasion of the 80s with their unique electronic rock on the back of Dave Gahan's vocals and songwriting of Martin Gore. Gahan stated,“I’m really looking forward to getting out there and performing. There are so many die hard Depeche Mode fans who have been with us every step of this journey that I can’t wait to see. I also hope that we gain some new fans with the release of 'Delta Machine', and I look forward to exposing them to a great Depeche Mode live performance."
Tickets go on-sale to the general public on Saturday, April 6. Presale tickets will begin on Monday, April 1 via Citi's Private Pass; through Amazon.com for fans who pre-order Delta Machine [or Deluxe Edition] before April 1 via a presale code for up to two tickets. Facebook will offer presale codes beginning on Thursday, April 4, and the Live Nation mobile app users will gain access to pre-sale on Friday, April 5. All sale times begin at 10 a.m. local time.
