Here it is, the end of September already. Try some of the yoga events and workshops below and get into your fall yoga groove!
Monday, September 30: Off the Mat presents a benefit for Colorado Flood Relief tonight at Wynkoop Brewing Company. A $20 (or greater) donation gets you yoga with Gina Caputo, live music from DJ Janis, a raffle ticket and a beer. In celebration of National Yoga Month, Wynkoop has brewed a special jasmine green tea and ginger Hoppy Yogis beer. 100% of the proceeds of this event go to The Salvation Army Intermountain Division.
Wednesday, October 2: Allison Trainer offers Yoga for Recovery every Wednesday at noon at Yama Yoga Village. Complement your conventional treatment with yoga to help with stress reduction and willpower on your path to sobriety.
Cancer survivors can join Craig Kurtz at Iyengar Yoga Center of Denver for a free yoga class every Wednesday afternoon.
Friday, October 4: Join Dr. Nicole Hewitt for her weekend workshop, “Balanced and Living Confidently- Clearing The Clutter, Connecting to Yourself & Growing Your Roots,” at Samadhi Center for Yoga and Meditation. Spend the weekend learning grounding techniques in this Root Chakra-focused workshop.
Aditi Devi Ma takes you into the Sama Yogas of Kali this and five more Friday evenings at Mudra Yoga Studio. These evenings include mantra, dance and conversation as well as yoga and meditation.
It may be too late to participate in this one, but Sarita Shresthra presents a Mala Making and Vedic Astrology workshop at Harmony Yoga tonight. Check early in the week to see if you can still register, or ask to be put on the list for the next time the workshop is offered.
Saturday, October 5: Relax deeply at Cherryl Leone’s Yoga Nidra workshop this morning at Yama Yoga Village or at the restorative yoga workshop this afternoon at Asana Studio in Olde Town Arvada.
The InterMountain Iyengar Yoga Association presents Yoga Day 2013 from 12 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the Iyengar Yoga Center of Denver. An all-day pass for this event is only $35 (for non-members) for your choice of four of the ten workshops. Attend an individual class for $15. Yoga Day ends with a vegetarian potluck, so bring your favorite dish.
Keri Bergeron and Amy Baker lead the yoga class at Root Yoga Center this evening, accompanied by a live DJ, in celebration of Oktoberfest. Stay for food after the class.
Sunday, October 6: Spend three Sunday mornings diving into Sun Salutations with Practice Yoga + Reiki School owner Chris Muchow. You’ll focus on grounding this week, becoming more fluid in the second week, and end by becoming more spacious. This workshop is intended for teachers and experienced students.
Madhuri Martin guides you through “Perceiving Her True Form a Mystical Experience” at Samadhi Center for Yoga and Meditation this afternoon. Develop your gaze to see the world differently. Or learn to keep your body safe in Keri Bergeron’s Yoga for Healthy Knees and Hips workshop at Root Yoga Center.
