As winter ends, we complete a phase of inward turning. March is one of the best times to deepen your yoga practice: to learn to meditate; to explore the language of yoga and the ancient yogic texts; and to move your body in more therapeutic and restorative ways. Take this time for yourself this week with the yoga offerings listed below.
Monday, March 4: If you’re an expectant and new mom or a parent with a toddler, check out yoga at Belly Bliss in Cherry Creek today and every day. Belly Bliss also offers “Belly Yoga” classes at One Yoga in the Denver Tech Center.
Wednesday, March 6: If you want to develop a regular meditation practice, sign up for Samadhi Center for Yoga and Meditation’s “Ocean of Bliss” workshop, beginning this evening and continuing next Wednesday.
Thursday, March 7: Beginning tonight, Buffy Barfoot guides you through a weekend therapeutics yoga training at Kindness Yoga’s new Hilltop location. Learn to “clear injuries and old patterns in the body that no longer serve” in this training for students and teachers.
Friday, March 8: Karma Yoga Center hosts this week’s Friday Night Yoga Club, with yoga instruction by Katrina Gustafson and Lisa Schlelein, music accompaniment by Damon the Zen Drummer. Samadhi Center for Yoga and Meditation offers “Sanskrit Demystified” with Beth Sanchez this evening, as well as the monthly Bhakti Shakti Kirtan.
Saturday, March 9: Want to dive deeper into yoga philosophy? Join Mark Genco this afternoon at Kindness Yoga’s Hilltop location for “Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras Workshop: Seeing the Threads of Divine Union.”
Want to dive deeper into anatomy? Breathe Yoga on Santa Fe begins a three part anatomy workshop with yoga teacher and personal trainer Caroline Bloomquist. Part 1: Lower Management, is offered this afternoon. Part 2: Middle Management is offered on March 30, and Part 3: Upper Management finishes the series on April 20. Take one or all three.
Can’t resist chocolate and yoga? Join Heather Lindemann this afternoon for a “Sweet Surrender Restorative Yoga & Chocolate Workshop” at Mudra Yoga Studio.
If you’re a new yoga practitioner, try Emma Addison’s “Beginning Level Asana Workshop” at the Iyengar Yoga Center of Denver also this afternoon.
If you’re single and in the 45+ age range, try the YogaDates yoga speed dating event at The River from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
