This week’s yoga events, workshops and special classes are calling you to go deeper: deeper into your meditation, chanting and yoga practices as well as your own self discovery.

Tuesday, April 1: One of Denver’s best yoga deals: join Whole Yoga Founder Karyn Karlson for her regularly scheduled 1-3/4 hour All Levels class, and stay after the yoga class for an hour of meditation, all for less than $20.

Wednesday, April 2: Amp up your yoga workout with a regularly scheduled Yoga Cross class at The River. Half functional fitness training and half Power Yoga, Yoga Cross classes are offered at 6 a.m. on Wednesdays (and Mondays). Check The River’s schedule for other class times.

Thursday, April 3: Detox and revitalize for spring with a 4-week cleanse at Kindness Yoga Hilltop guided by Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist Lance Roehrig and Kind Hot Yoga Teacher Mary Beth Hickey. For an additional $50, you can add one month of unlimited yoga.

Longtime meditation practitioner and teacher Barry Gillespie continues his series on the ten paramis at Asana Studio. Join him for this evening’s dharma talk on energy and patience, along with meditation and discussion. Or learn the meaning of Om, the rules of Vedic chant and more about Sanskrit & Chanting at Meg Bratt’s lecture and yoga practice tonight at ONE Yoga.

Friday, April 4: Karma Yoga Center hosts a heart-centered weekend immersion with Atma Yoga Founder Saul David Raye. Saul combines yoga, bhakti and shamanic teachings for Heart Medicine: Living with Deep Courage & Great Love in Challenging Times. The weekend events begin this afternoon with a teachers’ immersion, followed by an all-levels yoga, chanting and deep meditation workshop tonight. Sign up for the entire weekend, one day, one class, or the Saturday evening Kirtan. Don’t forget to bring your journal.

Saturday, April 5: The Heart Medicine immersion with Saul David Raye continues today at Harvard Gulch Rec Center. The morning begins with Agni & Soma: Alchemy of Fire & Water and there’s Soma Shakti:Nectar of the Moon: Deep Relaxation, Meditation and Rejuvenation this afternoon.

Allison Benner presents an Emotional Self Regulation Workshop—Slowing Down to Move Forward this morning at Kundalini Yoga Denver. Join her for healing movement, breathwork, meditation and music. A head covering is highly recommended.

Choose from several great afternoon workshops. Emma Addison offers a Beginning Level Asana Workshop at the Iyengar Yoga Center of Denver. Loosen up your hips and shoulders in Kery Madden’s workshop at Yama Yoga Village. Or explore past lives with a guided journey with Sandy Kline at Asana Studio. Don’t forget your journal for this one, and bring a blanket and a pillow.

Join the Community Kirtan with Boulder-based The Pushpams this afternoon at Harmony Yoga. There’ll be henna artists, chai and birthday cake at this celebration for the studio owner’s birthday and the studio’s 8th spring.

International Instructor and DJ Brian “Seraiah” Wood and Rhythm Sanctuary present Tao of the Dance tonight at Asana Studio. The evening begins with a Chinese Qigong Workshop and ends with movement medication ritual and ecstatic dance.

Chant, dance, meditate and pray at Saul David Raye’s Ananda Cosmic Kirtan tonight at Karma Yoga Center. Saul is joined by Jim Beckwith, Yoshi Aono and other special musical guests.

Sunday, April 6: Saul David Raye’s immersion continues at Harvard Gulch Rec Center with a morning of Heart Medicine: Igniting the Inner Warrior through Love, Wisdom & Light to “cultivate a strong and open heart.” The weekend wraps up with an afternoon of Sacred Flow: Life Practices for Cultivating Abundance, Health, Peace & Prosperity. This workshop addresses abundance, positive intention and getting clear on what you want.

Leslie Bradley and Craig Kurtz lead How and Why to Practice and Teach the Inverted Asanas this morning at the Iyengar Yoga Center of Denver. One year of Iyengar Yoga practice is recommended for participants.

Try one of today’s diverse afternoon workshops. Angelique DeSilva teaches Sanskrit for Yoga Asana and the Sutras at the Iyengar Yoga Center of Denver. Suzanne Hauserman offers a yoga practice to take you from chair pose into Dragonfly at Asana Studio in Olde Town Arvada. Learn to adjust poses for your skeletal and muscular systems at Pile of Bones: The Fundamentals of Body Mechanics with Yoga Teacher and Physical Therapist Keri Bergeron at Root Yoga Center.
