Denver yoga calendar, week of July 21, 2014

To see the sun rise or set, or to feel the grass under your feet. This is the time to take your yoga practice outside to the park, the river, the garden or even to the bleachers at Red Rocks. For the sun shy, there’s great indoor yoga this week too.

Tuesday, July 22: Start your day with Sunrise Vinyasa Yoga at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Yoga Teacher and Horticulturist Blake Burger teaches this all levels class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Don’t forget to bring your mat, a towel and water.

Thursday, July 24: Longtime meditation practitioner and teacher Barry Gillespie talks about the Buddha’s Four Noble Truths and how this teaching can move us toward enlightenment. Join him tonight at Asana Studio in Arvada.

Friday, July 25: Bright Star Events presents ShaktiSonics: An Evening of Kirtan, Mantra and Raga with Sheela Bringi at Mudra Yoga Studio. Sheela is a California-based classically trained singer, harpist and bansuri flutist.

Explore the meaning of consciousness and enlightenment with longtime meditation teacher Peter Russell at his evening talk, Awareness: Bringing Spirit Down to Earth. Peter also offers a weekend workshop, Effortless Meditation: The Art of Letting Go. Sign up for both of these Kindness Yoga Hilltop events to receive a discount.
