Denver yoga calendar, week of February 11, 2013

With the first Denver Chant Fest this weekend, who could ask for anything more? Yet great options for Denver yoga don’t stop there this week!

Tuesday, February 12: Looking for an early evening class? Try Nadja Tizer’s Hatha Yoga class at Harmony Yoga on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, February 13: Taking a class with Denver favorite Tina Porter is a must for any serious yoga student. Porter teaches an all-levels Power Vinyasa class every Wednesday at noon at The River.

Thursday, February 14: The yoga lineup for this year’s July Wanderlust festival in Copper Mountain has been announced and Denver’s Justin Kaliszewski made the list. Check out his Outlaw Yoga classes at Kindness Yoga Broadway on at noon and 7:45 p.m. on Thursdays.

Friday, February 15: Go for the weekend, for a day, or for one class or kirtan (call and response chanting), but don’t miss the first Denver Chant Fest! The event kicks off this evening at 6:00 p.m. with a Ganesha Puja ceremony and Vinyasa yoga class with Janet Stone. Kirtan with Dave Stringer followed by dancing with music from DJ Drez and the Luminaries rounds out the evening.

Saturday, February 16: Yoga at Denver Chant Fest today includes classes with national teachers Saul David Raye, Bryan Kest and Janet Stone. Local favorites Scott and Shanti Medina as well as the Pushpams lead the chanting, along with national kirtan wallahs Govindas and Radha, C.C. White and Jai Uttal. Uttal even offers a free kid’s kirtan as part of the free wellness classes at the event.

Looking for an afternoon workshop? Experience guided visualizations and deep relaxation with Jeremy Wolf at his Yoga Nidra workshop at Samadhi Center for Yoga. Or experience the “natural face lift” of Face Yoga with Sandy Kline at Asana Studio in Olde Town Arvada. If yoga and shopping are your perfect combination, try the Yoga Fashion Tea Party at Vital Yoga, including a gentle yoga flow class and clothing discounts.

Sunday, February 17: It’s not too late to soak up the Denver Chant Fest vibe! This last day of Denver Chant Fest begins with a yoga class led by favorite Denver area teachers and ends with kirtan led by Saul David Raye. Raye also leads a post-fest yoga class.

Breathe Yoga offers an alternative with their Reiki Training level I this afternoon, and Yama Yoga Village is hosting guest teacher Richii Jai for a noontime workshop on Dragonfly, Sidecrow and Advanced plank.
