With yoga studios and practitioners gearing up for fall, it’s a quiet week of Denver yoga. Say goodbye to summer with the yoga, meditation and chanting events listed on this week’s calendar.
Tuesday, August 26: Kundalini Yoga Denver is joining Kundalini communities all over the world in chanting to celebrate the life of Yogi Bhajan. Join them at 4 a.m. at the Highland Event Center for 2-1/2 hours of long Eck Ong Kaurs. This is a free event.
Are you an advanced asana practitioner? Julieta Claire leads a Tuesday and Thursday night Tigress practice at Endorphin City Park. Tigress is a “full spectrum” class for yoga practitioners who can kick up, unassisted, to handstand at the wall and can push up to a straight-armed wheel pose. Both Tigress classes are now donation-based, with the class community choosing a different charity each month.
Thursday, August 28: Beginning this morning, Lisa Eller Davis guides a Chair Yoga Series at Harmony Yoga for five Thursdays. This chair-based practice includes the option of some gentle standing and lying down poses. A senior discount is included.

Friday, August 29: Denise Cook and other local teachers invite you to Save the Elephants: Celebrate Overcoming Obstacles Ganesha Chaturthi this evening at Endorphin on Broadway. This 90-minute Vinyasa class with music and food is a donation event for the elephants.
Asana Studio presents SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboard) Yoga at Big Soda Lake in Lakewood’s Bear Creek Lake Park tonight with Kelsey Walstad. The Stand-Up Paddleboards are anchored to create a “controlled floating yoga studio” that challenges balance, builds strength and enhances relaxation. All levels of yoga and paddleboard experience welcome.
