Denver yoga calendar, week of April 21, 2014

Therapeutic yoga, sacred sound and free yoga are some of this week’s Denver yoga highlights.

Monday, April 21: Im’Unique United begins a second evening of free yoga, with a 6-week, Monday evening Illustrating Yoga Tour stop at Civic Center park. Arrive by 5:30 to get your mat space.

Tuesday, April 22: Join Im’Unique for free yoga at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Be sure to arrive by 6 p.m. for this popular class. Or check out John Friend’s regularly scheduled Therapeutics class, based on Sridaiva alignment principles, every Tuesday evening at Vital Yoga Highlands.

Thursday, April 24: Celebrate the relaunch of QiFlow with a free QiFlow class with Dawnelle Arthur and DJ Steofan this evening. The festivities continue with a QiFlow social tomorrow evening and free classes all weekend.

Chant n’Chill with Lisa Theis every Thursday night at Karma Yoga Center. Lisa introduces you to a mantra or chant, leads gentle movement, and then moves you through breathwork, repetition of the mantra and meditation. All experience levels welcome.

Friday, April 25: Join Tom Fuhrmann for his 3-year anniversary Maha Kirtan tonight at Mile Hi Church, and don’t forget to bring your own pillows and/or back jack.

For a challenging yoga practice, try tonight’s Rocket Workshop at Samadhi Center for Yoga & Meditation. You’ll focus on arm balances, backbends and inversions on this practice that’s based on the Ashtanga Vinyasa primary and intermediate series.

Saturday, April 26: Harmony Yoga presents a lunchtime, 4-week Therapeutic Yoga Series with Peret Martellini. Sign up for the entire gentle and restorative series or drop-in for a single session.

Denver’s new Neurosculpting® Institute presents Embodying the Body Current®: Cellular Neuroplasticity with Shanti Medina this afternoon. Sunday, April 27: Leslie Bradley and Craig Kurtz offer Therapeutic Yoga: Modifications for Neck and Shoulder Issues this morning at the Iyengar Yoga Center of Denver. Stay for Laura Allard-Antelmi’s Anatomy and Asana for the Neck and Shoulder Joint this afternoon. One year Iyengar Yoga experience is recommended for both workshops.
