It’s time again for the annual Westword Music Showcase, Denver’s largest one-day music festival. On Saturday, June 23, the Golden Triangle area will be teeming with thousands of music fans coming out to see over 150 acts performing on 15 stages throughout the afternoon and evening. The outdoor Main Stage (at the 900 block of Acoma) will feature headlining acts such as Girl Talk, Battles, Baywood, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears. Also appearing on the Main Stage this year are hot local acts My Body Sings Electric and Churchill.
As is typical of the Westword Music Showcase, the lion’s share of time slots will be filled by over 100 featured local acts in a wide range of genres. Besides the two local bands mentioned above, here are just a few of the great local bands and artists who will be playing:
Joshua Novak
I’m With Her
Rachel and the Kings
Carbon Choir
Lola Black
Bop Skizzum
Wire Faces
Rob Drabkin

…and many others!
As usual, fans can participate in the Westword Music Poll to vote for their favorite acts in each category. You can fill out the poll currently appearing in the weekly editions of Westword Magazine, or you can fill it out online here. The deadline for the polls is June 25—two days after the event—so you can wait to hear the bands before voting, if you like.
Tickets for the Westword Music Showcase are $25 each, if purchased in advance. (You can purchase tickets here.) The price will go up on the day of the event (and this showcase tends to sell out, anyhow), so you’d be wise to buy early if you plan to attend. The Main Stage shows are all-ages; two of the indoor venues (Rooster & Moon and Curious Theatre) are ages 18+; and all other venues are 21+. For all other details, including venue locations, maps, and a full lineup, go to the Westword Music Showcase website.
Think about it—over 150 bands, all day long, for $25. It’s one of the best music deals of the year. Come on out to the Golden Triangle on June 23, enjoy some great headliners, and show your support for Denver local music!
