For a wedding, a charity gala, an awards ceremony, a black tie party and other special occasions, the right evening wear is a must. While you still want to look chic and sophisticated, you also want to look polished and classy. Denver based Stylist Dahlia Jean Weinstein walks us through evening wear trends this fall, so you can stand out at all of your formal events. Some highlights of evening wear trends for Fall 2013 include the following.
Body Con: These days, people are all about flaunting what they’ve got. This fall’s cutout trend is a way to showcase what you’ve been working all summer for. Weinsten states, “Gowns are more body conscious and sexy with stunning, skin-bearing cutouts embellished with rhinestones, crystals and sequins.” To rock this trend at your next party, choose something you want to flaunt and do it tastefully. True sexiness isn’t about running around with the least amount of clothes. It’s all about subtlety.
Jewel Tones: Rich, deep jewel tones were all over the runway for Fall 2013. Designers such as Monique Lhullier, Oscar De La Renta and Naeem Khan showcased elegant gowns in tones such as emerald green, ruby red and plum. Weinstein advises checking out the trend for yourself. “Mariel in Cherry Creek North specializes in glamorous evening gowns and will feature emerald green, ruby red, silver and gold knockout gowns in its finale segment in the upcoming Celebrate Fashion in Cherry Creek North fashion show.” She also notes, “The color story also translates into luxurious furs, which will be paired with the evening gown segment of the Cherry Creek North fashion show. Marks Lloyds Furs will showcase fur coats and stoles in a range of bold colors and sophisticated silhouettes.”
Metallics: Varying hues of silver, gold and everything in between are pretty much a staple in evening wear. This season is no different. Whether you want to go full-on gold or accentuate a basic black dress, adding metallics can create a sexy look with a little bit of edge. Metallics are also hot for accessories. States Weinstein, “To dress down a formal gown, instead of wearing something expected like a strappy evening shoe, add stiletto booties in black or a metallic hue. Add a large metallic clutch instead of a small evening bag. It is the perfect way to translate a traditional gown into something more modern, and oversized clutches are a huge trend for fall/winter 2013.”
See these trends for yourself at the Celebrate Fashion event in Cherry Creek North on September 12. Fashion shows start at 7 pm, and Mariel Boutique will be closing the show with stunning evening wear. Stop by and get a few ideas.
