The SBA Administrator for Region VIII, Daniel Hannaher, recently sent out some encouraging advice to Small Business Owners in the Denver area encouraging them to start exporting. In this article, we will start delving into the 7 reasons that were mentioned to try and explain them a bit clearer. In this article, we will deal with "Moderating Seasonal Production Cycles."
Mr. Hannaher says the following about Moderating Seasonal Production Cycles:
"Moderate seasonal production cycles. Any company that produces products related to the seasons-such as camping gear or ski equipment-should be aware that there are two summers and two winters every year on the planet. By selling seasonal products south of the equator during its off season, a company could moderate seasonal fluctuations in its production cycle--a big benefit both to the company and its employees."
Remember always, it's a big, big world out there. There are Four Seasons on the planet, but they do not fall at the same time of the year. In Denver, it may be the middle of Winter, and your "snow based business" may be flourishing. When Winter ends in Denver, it does not mean that your business should end.
In this World and in this Global Economy, it's important to remember that it is always Winter somewhere. It is always Autumn, always Spring, always Summer, and always WInter. Take your product or service Global, and even your seasonal business can make a profit the entire year.
