Denver’s workweek starts out cold but much warmer weather on the way

The Mile High City will be starting the workweek with fog and below normal temperatures. Our extended period of cold though will be coming to an end with temperatures climbing well above average in the coming days.

This morning fog has settled in and a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 9:00 a.m. for the Colorado Front Range including the Denver metro area. Visibility is down to less than one quarter of a mile in many locations so motorists need to exercise caution on the roadways.

Once the fog burns off we will see mostly cloudy skies for the better part of the day. Cloud cover will begin to decrease after about 2:00 p.m.

Temperatures today will be a good ways above the chilly readings yesterday but will be well below the average for the date of 45 degrees. Look for highs in the metro area to top out in the low to mid-30s.

Tuesday ushers in warmer temperatures that will climb through the week and last into the weekend.

Tomorrow sunny skies will be above and the mercury will finally climb above normal with a target high temperature of 48 degrees.

The balance of the week will feature mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. There is a chance Saturday and Sunday will even hit the 60 degree mark.

Dry conditions will be seen at lower elevations throughout the period. The only real concern is the chance for gusty winds Wednesday and Thursday, something that will need to be watched closely.
