Denver's In The Whale resurfaces at the Neurolux on Feb 15 with The Pack AD

In The Whale, the two-piece rock outfit from Denver made a big splash at the second annual Treefort Music Fest last year and again when they returned to Boise in July. Now the duo of drummer Eric Riley and guitarist and vocalist Nate Valdez are set to return to The Neurolux on Saturday, February 15.

Riley and Valdez met in Greeley, Colorado in 2009 and found in each other kindred spirits. They soon moved to Denver to build a larger following for their high energy, alternative rock music and off-the-hook live performances. In The Whale released its debut EP, "Cake" in 2012. The four tracks represent the duo's twisted sense of humor and quirky rhythmic delusions. "Cake" has been hailed as, "dirty and aggressive, yet surprisingly light-hearted," and it recalls the likes of the Black Keys, White Stripes and The Eagles of Death Metal.

The duo's catchy melodies are full of groove, attitude, and swagger, all of which carry over onto the stage with them. It is hard to imagine two guys could create so much sonic jubilance and own a stage so completely that the crowd loses its collective mind, but that is In The Whale.

Also appearing will be the Canadian garage rock duo, The Pack A.D. featuring singer/guitarist Becky Black and drummer Maya Miller. The two will release their fifth studio album "Do Not Engage", on January 28, 2014.

Opening the show will be the primitive rock duo, The Rollersnakes.

Tickets are only $8 in advance or $10 at the door and can be purchased at The Record Exchange.
