Denver's Rockin' Day of Rock is Saturday

Three hundred art booths, 100,000 fans, 50,000 Rockies fans, 25 bands, 5 stages --and more important, 5 beer gardens! -- 28 outdoor cafes, food booths...all on one mile-long pedestrian path of fun will make the 16th Street Mall one rockin' place on Saturday, May 28. The music plays for free from 2:30 to 9:30 p.m., so grab a beer, stroll the Mall, people-watch, browse some art, sip another beer and rock out.

Some highlights:

Stage 4 on Champa Street is devoted to the sounds of New Orleans. Catch Dwayne Dopsie & the Zydeco Hellraisers at 6:15 p.m. by the incredible Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band at 8 p.m.

The Main Stage at Arapahoe will have the popular The Samples from 6:10 to 7:10 p.m. followed by Dennis Deyoung and the Music of Styx.

Local favorites Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers play on Stage 5 on Welton Street at 5:45 p.m., while the Gin Blossoms close stage 2 on Arapahoe at 8:00 p.m.
