5280 Week in the Denver metro area is one that food lovers wait for all year long. Local area restaurants serve scrumptious, mouthwatering cuisine for the outrageously inexpensive price of $52.80 for two. This often even includes wine and dessert. If it’s a less expensive restaurant, then the special might even be $52.80 for a party of four.
Yesterday we spoke to Chef Andy at Citron Bistro and he let us take a peek at the menu choices he has in store for 5280 guests (the full menu is below). We already have our reservations and we hope you do too; if not, give them a call at 303-771-5800.
For the last two years to help out the local economy, the organizers of Denver Restaurant Week have decided to hold it over for an additional week and most restaurants are participating both weeks, but make your reservations ASAP to lock in your 5280 time.
In 2011, Denver Restaurant Week will be held for two weeks, from Feb. 26-March 11, 2011.
Citron Bistro in South Denver is one of the participating restaurants and is one we enjoyed last year. Take a look at this spectacular menu. (Here is a slide show of last year's 5280 dinner we enjoyed.)
First course, choice of:
- Roasted Pork Belly ~ Cardamom spiced, garbanzo bean purée
- Spicy Hummus ~ Drizzled with olive oil, pita wedges
- Oven Roasted Feta ~ Imported Greek Feta, roasted tomatoes, Kalamata olives, pita wedges
Second course, choice of:
- Colorado Lamb Brochette ~ Oregano lemon spiced skewers, roasted fingerling potatoes and root vegetables
- Cioppino ~ PEI mussels, shrimp, calamari, clams, crab cod, in a spicy San Marzano tomato sauce, grilled garlic ciabatta
- New York Steak ~ USDA choice grilled, atop Gorgonzola cream sauce, frizzled onions, roasted red potatoes, seasonal vegetables
Third course, choice of:
- Crème Brûlée Napoleon ~ Layers of phillo pastry, crème brûlée
- Bread Pudding ~ Topped with a caramel crème anglâise
Citron Bistro brings fun dining and super ambience to the neighborhood in the South Denver area. As you enter our free-standing building, casual décor and comfort immediately make you feel welcome. Several areas of dining throughout offer a more intimate setting with wood floors, brick, warm colors, and huge windows to set the scene.

Citron Bistro is an awesome place to eat! Great food, portions and people!!
Wow, I don't think there are that many houses in my town as you have restaurants. The bistro looks like a lovely place to dine and what a menu!
My husband and I were very impressed with Armando's, the specials were incredible and the service was great. It's much cozier in the inside than it looks from the outside!!!
Hi Susan, I agree! We went in last year on Mothers Day with no reservations but were able to sit in the bar area. It was fantastic and one of the owners was in the kitchen belting out Italian opera... love that stuff!
simms steakhouse when we arrived and told them we were there for food week suddenly we were treated very differently the food was horrible the only thing that was halfway decent was the chicken and we waited a long time for are dinner to arrive finally the manger came over and apologized for are wait and said it shouldn’t be too much longer. Meanwhile people around us were all being served 5280 or not we will never go back later this week we are going to the melting pot hope things turn out much better there
