Overnight the Mile High City received a much-needed quick hit of snow and while it didn’t amount to much, every little bit helps our dry winter. The snow comes to an end this morning and while the sun will return, temperatures will remain quite cold.

Denver International Airport reported 2.7 inches of snow as of 5:00 a.m. and that total is close to what most areas around town have seen. Roads this morning are snow-packed but also a bit icy so your morning commute may be a slow one. Please plan accordingly and take it slow.

The snow is already coming to an end from north to south and should be pretty much done by 8:00 a.m. in the metro area.

Cloud cover is already starting to loosen and will continue to do so through the day. By this afternoon we will be seeing partly to mostly sunny skies.

The mercury is going to remain stubbornly below freezing today with high temperatures topping out in the mid to upper 20s.

Unseasonably warm weather returns for Friday and the weekend however ensuring the snow on the ground won’t stick around long. Highs tomorrow will be in the low to mid 50s, possibly above 60 Saturday and then the mid-50s on Sunday. The first part of next week brings colder temperatures and another chance for snow.
