Larger than life, Denver Broncos quarterback, Peyton Manning, has his own Pro Bowl tradition. During a closed team practice session (semi off-limits to the press) Manning becomes a comedian-style roast master, hurling playful jokes at various Pro Bowl players. Manning has been seen over the years in many TV commercials advertising products, in a humorous manner.
He is a well respected player in the NFL and by fans alike. Manning had the largest overall total in Pro Bowl votes. The votes include fans, NFL coaches, and NFL players. Manning took a moment away from his usual humor to address both AFC and NFC players, asking "all" players to put forth a greater effort in the 2013 NFL Pro Bowl competition.
Jan. 22, NFL News reports, 'It's a yearly tradition. Peyton Manning addresses the Pro Bowl players from both the AFC and NFC teams the night before the first practices begin.
He began with an impassioned plea for a return to a time when players cared about the NFL's all-star game and played at full speed.
Manning finished with a series of zingers that left all in attendance, including NFL executive of football operations Ray Anderson, executive director of the NFLPA DeMaurice Smith, laughing in stitches."
