Denver gets another day of wind, mountain snow continues

Northeastern Colorado’s workweek starts out with weather much like what was experienced on Sunday. The plains will be dry and windy while the high country continues to receive snow.

For the Front Range temperatures are going to be at or above normal under mostly sunny skies. Denver will be headed for a high in the mid to upper 40s.

Winds will continue to be gusty, particularly in the foothills and along our northern borders. In town gusts to 40 mph will be possible. A High Wind Warning is in effect until 4:00 p.m. for the foothills where gusts could hit 80 mph.

In the mountains, snow and blowing snow will continue with an additional 2 to 6 inches of snowfall expected today. Strong winds are going to create blowing snow, particularly at the highest elevations, and this will lead to potentially hazardous conditions. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 5:00 p.m. for the north central mountains.

Looking ahead to the rest of the week, overall Denver will remain dry and unseasonably warm. A cold front does push in tomorrow and we may see a flurry in the morning hours but no accumulations at all are expected. Temperatures in town Tuesday will still be in the mid to upper 40s.

Temperatures for the rest of the week will see some variance but still be quite mild in the 50s, possibly coming close to 60 Saturday and Sunday.
