Denver Comic Con brings geek fun to sellout crowds

Denver area geeks came together to celebrate their passion for a good cause at the third annual Denver Comic Con. This past weekend June 13-15, 2014, fans of comics, superheroes, sci-fi, and more invaded the Colorado Convention Center. The ideal place to spend a Father’s Day weekend, families and fans of all ages put on their finest costumes for a weekend they will not forget.

Denver Comic Con has again outdone itself with sellout crowds and big time celebs such as Battlestar Galatica's Admiral Adama himself Edward James Olmos, Batman icons Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar, Stephen Amell and Caity Lotz from Arrow, Evil Dead’s Bruce Campbell, The Walking Dead’s Chandler Riggs and Michael Rooker, Doctor Who’s Sylvester McCoy and Peter Davison, Lou Ferrigno, Walter Koenig, Greg Weisman, Walter Jones, David Yost, and the big names went on and on. Even William Shatner returned to host to an impressive Star Trek: Next Generation reunion panel with cast members Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Denise Crosby, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden and Marina Sirtis. Kathryn Immonen, Robert Axelrod, Walter Jones, David Yost, and the big names continue on.

Denver Comic Con continues to be one of the largest comic conventions in the country. Big names in the biz as well as fans helped to raise funds for the fabulous non-profit organization Comic Book Classroom. This charity is a Non-profit organization created for low income schools and communities to help children with reading and writing difficulties. It's a six week program geared towards needy kids by utilizing comic books and graphic novels as a teaching tool. By the end of the program, these kids will have actually written and designed their own comic books. Have fun and raise money for a good cause.
