The loss in Super Bowl XLVIII for the Denver Broncos against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday ranked as the third worst blowout in the history of the NFL Super Bowls. In fact, the loss actually falls under a tie with Super Bowl XXVII when the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Buffalo Bill 52-17.

As reported by CBS Sports, the top five worst blowouts in the history of Super Bowls. The third being the Broncos’ suffering loss to the Seahawks on Sunday, which fell under a tie with Super Bowl XXVII.

As witness by NFL fans, the Broncos lost 43-8 against the Seahawks on Sunday. The 8 points for Denver should settle the tie breaker with Super Bowl XXVII due to the fact that it was less than what the Bills scored against the Cowboys (17 points).

Additionally, the article shows that the number one blowout also belongs to the Broncos, on the losing side of course, which was from Super Bowl XXIV against Joe Montana and the San Francisco 49ers. That score was 55-10 in favor of the 49ers.

Many will agree that this loss for the Denver Broncos was more embarrassing than the Bills’ loss to the Cowboys because the Broncos had the best scoring offense ever this year. On Sunday, it was shut down and considered as a huge choke.

Anyway, this horrible loss was also the third blowout loss for the Broncos in the top five of Super Bowl blowouts ever. The other horrific performance by Denver in a Super Bowl was against the Washington Redskins for SB XXII. That score was 42-10 Redskins.

Out of the three losses for the Denver Broncos, Super Bowl XLVIII is got to be the one that will be very hard to swallow for many years. After having such a wonderful, almost perfect season, the Broncos choked in the game that mattered the most.

In the end, many thought that the game was boring, but, for Seattle fans and the Raider Nation, it was a spectacular day!
