Denver Beer Co. to open new Barrel Room annex (Photos)

Denver Beer Co. will celebrate the opening of their new Barrel Room annex on Friday, January 18th at 7pm with a beer/dinner pairing catered by Mikes2Kitchen.

Though only a few steps away from the main taproom, the new Barrel Room—formerly a gift shop—seems worlds apart. Whereas the main taproom is bright, open, and raucous with an industrial-chic décor, the Barrel Room is dark, intimate, quiet, and—with antler chandeliers, exposed brick and rock walls, and reclaimed barn wood paneling—feels like an old English gentleman’s foxhunting lodge. The eponymous barrels resting about the room also add to the old-world ambiance.

The Barrel Room will be a place for beer geeks to enjoy “a unique beer menu to include limited edition IPAs, wood-aged beers and eventually sour beers.” As of yet, the new space will not be used on a daily basis but rather for special events, beer dinners, private parties, and general crowd overflow (it seats 55 people indoors, 35 people on the new patio).

Denver Beer Co. also expanded their brewing equipment allowing for a 125% increase in capacity and the option of filling more draft accounts around Denver.

Beer geeks interested in attending the inaugural beer dinner can make reservations at (303) 433-2739. Tickets are $60 plus tax and gratuity.
