Rioja, 1431 Larimer Street, named after the Spanish wine region features an extensive wine list, heavily comprised of what else but Spanish wines. Most are available by the bottle but they also offer wine by the glass for the guest that would like to try a few different varieties of wine with their meal.
Prices of the bottle range anywhere from a $12 dollar bottle of Tommaso Bussola Amarone to a $525 dollar bottle of Termanthia. They also feature a variety of specialty cocktails: Lemon Quencher, Sangria, Pomeginger.
The bar menu features tapas such as an artisan cheese flight, tuna tartare, a rioja picnic. The actual menu, which is Mediterranean inspired, includes on site handmade pastas, duck, salmon and lamb, just to name a few. Chef Jen has been featured the CBS Early Show. Rioja has received national accolades from Details Magazine and GQ as well as local nods in Denver Magazine, Westword, and 5280 Magazine.
The atmosphere is perfect for a date night, a nice birthday dinner, or catching up with girlfriends. The simple décor allows the food and wine to shine. The staff is highly knowledgeable on the perfect pairings of entrees and wine.
On Tuesdays Rioja features ‘Sip and Snacks’ from 5PM until close where they pair appetizers with the featured wine for $15. There are two more left for January, the 19th and the 26th, featuring pinot posse and the sauvignons.
Dinner is served seven days a week, while lunch is Wednesday through Friday. Brunch is also available on Saturday and Sunday.
