Dennis Rodman is looking for more international attention. Well, technically he might be buying it. After the big news from the Vatican was the announcement of the new Pope Francis pictures have surfaced of Dennis Rodman riding around Rome in a Popemobile. On Wednesday the Wall Street Journal eased any worries this was a real Vatican vehicle as apparently it was a knockoff.
The Basketball Hall of Fame member sat inside a transparent booth in a vehicle that was obviously special but instead of being the Popemobile it was an earlier version of the vehicle. The Mercedes ML-Class truck custom-built for the adventures in Rome isn't the same as what is used now as the Pope has the latest and greatest in Popemobiles to ride.
Dennis Rodman definitely had some of the fans fooled. Looking like the Popemobile was on loan to the NBA star, it seemed as though the celebrity went from one leader to another in record time. However, as fans find out it appears to be more of a publicity stunt. Still, it’s pretty awesome to see a NBA Player riding around in a knockoff Popemobile. Who would have thought that was even possible (besides Dennis Rodman of course.)
