Dennis Rodman plans vacation to North Korea

The average person plans summer vacations that involve national parks, camping and sightseeing.

Basketball player Dennis Rodman plans summer vacations to North Korea, apparently.

At least, that’s what the basketball-player-turned-diplomat told KXJB-AM radio in Fargo, N.D. Rodman, who visited North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in February, said he plans to vacation in North Korea in August. Rodman is the first known American to meet Kim. Washington diplomats say he didn’t act in an official or authorized capacity.

Rodman’s vacation announcement came just days after North Korea broke an armistice agreement made during the Korean War. In addition, since Rodman’s return, Kim has threatened a nuclear strike against the United States.

Despite Kim’s actions, though, Rodman asserts that Kim doesn’t want to go to war. Rodman also called the North Korean dictator a “good guy.”

“I don’t condone what he does, but he’s my friend,” Rodman said during the interview witht he Fargo radio station.
