Dennis Rodman makes third trip to North Korea to train basketball players

Thursday, former basketball star Dennis Rodman arrived in North Korea for the third time this year to meet with Kim Jong Un about a basketball diplomacy deal the two are working on; the news has created a buzz. Rodman is the most famous American to travel to North Korea. Rodman called Kim Jong Un "a friend" Thursday as he left for North Korea from China, according to the Newsy video (that can be seen above).

Rodman, 52, was initially very secretive about his trips to North Korea, but in September after his last trip he held a press conference to announce plans. Thursday, Rodman said he was traveling to North Korea to train some of their players.

Rodman has called North Korean president Kim Jong Un a “very good guy.” Rodman said that he is putting together a "basketball diplomacy" project that will include players from North Korea.

Paddy Power is an online betting company and Rodman said that he has organized this "basketball diplomacy" along with some other representatives from Paddy Power.

In September, Dennis Rodman said he had a very “relaxing time by the sea” while on the trip to North Korea. Rodman spent time with Kim Jong Un and his wife, Ri Sol Ju, and their baby, Ju Ae, according to CNN. The mention of the child’s name sent a buzz through the Internet as people confirmed that the North Korean couple did have a baby and what the child’s name is. Dennis Rodman said he held Ju Ae and he said that Kim was “a good dad.”
