Dennis Rodman is trying to make people look at the Catholic Church in a whole new way. Not only did he fly to Vatican City in an effort to meet the next pope, but along the way he talked a bit about his favorite pope — who just happens to be Pope John Paul II, because “he was cool as hell,” Rodman said in this video, posted on TMZ.com.
“He pretty much was like a pimp, sitting up there,” Rodman said in the video. “He spoke like 20,000 different languages and people just sitting there spill their lives to him, and he was great for the world.”
Rodman went on to say that the world would be shocked by what he does while visiting the Vatican. Not only does Rodman think he will be in the Popemobile, “doing (his) thing,” but he also hopes he will get to shake some hands and come back and talk about his experiences, he said.
“It’s amazing that I’m actually doing all these great historical things now, and people just can’t believe I’m just actually — Dennis Rodman, of all people?” Rodman said during the video. “I’m not Madonna, Oprah, or anybody like that. This is Dennis Rodman.”
In February, Rodman met with North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. After his trip, he has repeatedly called the leader “his friend.”
