According to an article at the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) filed a lawsuit over an olive pit in a sandwich wrap.
Kucinich is seeking $150,000 in damages from various companies that operate a cafeteria in the Longworth House Office Building.
The sandwich containing the pit was purchased "on or about April 17, 2008," according to the lawsuit.
The lawsuit alleges that Kucinich suffered "permanent dental and oral injuries requiring multiple surgical and dental procedures."
"Said sandwich wrap was unwholesome and unfit for human consumption in that it was presented to contain pitted olives, yet unknown to plaintiff, contained an unpitted olive or olives which plaintiff did not reasonably expect to be in the food prepared for him, and could not visually detect prior to consumption."
Kucinich believes he is entitled to damages for any future medical and dental expenses as well as compensation for "pain, suffering, and loss of enjoyment," according to The Plain Dealer.
The lawsuit alleges negligence in that the cafeteria sold a sandwich with "dangerous substances, namely an olive pit, that a consumer would not reasonably expect to find" in a sandwich.
The company that operates the cafeteria confirmed the lawsuit, but would offer no other comment as the matter is pending before the court.
The lawsuit was filed on January 3, and a PDF file can be viewed here.

Being that I am from Ohio, I have to admit that I am just so darn proud of this man. Yep, I have loved his name being linked to our state. Yep. Sure have. *sigh* :\
I was being sarcastic when I left my comment about being proud of him.
As a former Buckeye I must agree with Lori. Cough, cough! This guy should have been booted from politics a long time ago.
Well that's...Interesting.
