The accusation comes almost 30 years to the date of the death of the actress, who was initially determined to have fallen overboard during a yacht cruise with husband Robert Wagner and "Brainstorm" costar Christopher Walken.
Davern now admits that he lied to police and "not telling the honest truth in a police report." The captain's allegations have led to the re-opening of Natalie Wood's death investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Davern claims he isn't trying to profit off the anniversary of Wood's death. Wagner issued a statement saying that he supports the new investigation and hoped the lead was credible and was not "simply trying to profit from the 30-year anniversary of her tragic death."
Natalie Wood died at the age of 43. She starred in the iconic musical "West Side Story" and "Rebel Without a Cause." Wood was married to Robert Wagner twice, first in 1957, the marriage lasted 6 years. They divorced and married again in 1972.
Do you think Dennis Davern is telling the truth or is he out to make a profit on the anniversary of Natalie Wood's death?
