For his Spring 2014 collection, designer Dennis Basso drew creativity from the former Hollywood leading ladies Ava Gardner, Jane Russell, Rita Hayworth and Lana Turner, all whom are fashion muses due to their sensible elegance and style. In paying homage to the fore mothers of glamour and prestige, Basso chose to influence generations of fashionistas to establish their own sense of signature style.
The collection embodied an uptown chic meets downtown feel and was luxe with a capital “L”. Models strolled the runway in fluid dresses, dramatic ball gowns, straight and flared skirts, short shorts, and slim leg trousers. His designs were made in rich fabrications such as chiffon, cotton lace, satin, silk organza, tulle, and linen.
Included within the collection alligator, chinchilla, broadtail, mink and sable designs were for the early cool days of the Spring season. But as the season warms up, the Ladies Who Lunch in Dennis Basso will love the graphic black and white palette, bright tangerine, pale rose-pink and soft sky blue hues for the Spring 2014 season.
