Deniece Cornejo and co-accused Cedric Lee in the serious illegal detention case filed by actor-TV host Vhong Navarro, are in the headlines of newspapers and tabloids this evening, June 10, 2014 because of different issues aside from their involvement in the mauling incident. Reports say Cedric Lee is involved in the uploading of Katrina Halili-Hayden Kho sex video five years ago.

Based on the report, he tried to extort Php4M to Hayden Kho and his family before the sex videos came out. Incidentally, Cedric is still in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation despite the fact that he should be detained in the city jail right after his arrest in the town of Oras, Eastern Samar.

Reports said he filed a motion for stay to avoid his transfer to the Taguig City Jail because of death threats. Reports added that Judge Paz Esperanza Cortez of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 271 had conducted a survey to the city jail to determine whether the alleged death threats are true or not.

On the other hand, Deniece Cornejo became one of the hottest topics online these past few days because of her letter addressed to the Philippine President Benigno “Noy Noy” Aquino III. Based on the report, she wrote a letter to PNoy to clarify some important things regarding her 23rd birthday which she and her friends have celebrated inside the CIDG/ATCU detention cell two weeks ago, she said she did not receive special treatment from the PNP.

Aside from Deniece, her lawyer, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, also clarified the alleged special treatment given by the PNP to Deniece, the lawyer said that it’s just so happened that the 23rd birthday fell on Sunday which coincided with the family day for detention prisoners as practiced all over the country. Atty. Ferdinand Topacio also admitted that some friends and relatives of Deniece were also present and celebrated with Deniece inside the CIDG/ATCU.
