Already holding the best record in the Eastern Conference, the Bulls (22-6) will now have two representatives as Luol Deng was named an All-Star reserve on Thursday. It is his first selection to the All-Star game.
The eight-year do-it-all small forward for Chicago is averaging 16 points and seven rebounds per game.
Deng joins Boston Celtics’ Paul Pierce, Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh, Indiana Pacers’ Roy Hibbert, Philadelphia 76ers Andre Iguodala, Atlanta Hawks’ Joe Johnson and New Jersey Nets’ Deron Williams.
For the Western Conference, the reserves are Dallas Mavericks’ Dirk Nowitzki, Portland Trail Blazers’ LaMarcus Aldridge, Memphis Grizzlies’ Marc Gasol, Minnesota Timberwolves’ Kevin Love, Phoenix Suns’ Steve Nash, San Antonio Spurs’ Tony Parker, and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook.
