Dems say thank you Uncle Huck

Americans can get a good dose of Republicanhood by just listening to one of their leaders like Mike Huckabee, for instance. You see, some knuckleheads from his state voted Reverend Huckabee into the governor’s office in Arkansas. That is the same state that gave to us Bill Clinton. The two are as different as night and day. Clinton is an exceptionally bright and well educated politician who performed well as a governor and president. Mike Huckabee is a preacher who served as governor and wanted to become president.

Huckabee didn’t make it because he isn’t very bright, though has the gift of folksy gab. He is something like Rush Limbaugh without a cigar, and Sean Hannity with more ability. They appeal to a down home bigoted and unenlightened America comprising about 25% of the population by this analyst’s guess.

You can’t win national elections with 25%, nor can you win national elections with 25% + 1%. The longer Republicans dig at the bottom of the barrel, they will producers losers.

"If the Democrats want to insult the women of America by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing for them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of the government, then so be it," Huckabee said at the RNC winter meeting. "Let's take that discussion all across America."
As it turns out, Democrats are quite happy to oblige.

Shortly after Huckabee's "libido" comments, Democrats distributed them far and wide, rehashing the so-called GOP "war on women" and accusing Huckabee of insensitivity. Some enterprising campaigns even sought to tie their Republican opponents to the former presidential candidate, hoping Huckabee's controversy would also play a bit part in their own races.”

Democrats are not insulting women, they are champion them and their rights. Putting a woman on point underscores that message more than male chauvinists and religious right wingers. Let the Republicans keep talking and the hole will become too deep for them to climb out. That is the best strategy.
