Sony Computer Entertainment, the Japanese publisher of “Demon’s Souls,” has hinted at several big video games that are currently in development on the PS4 and Playstation Vita. According to a report from Push Square on Jan. 5, Masami Yamamoto talked a little bit about the future projects from the Japanese branch of the company.
He teased that “a new large scale intellectual property” will be released for the Playstation Vita in order to widen the target audience of the handheld system to younger players. Furthermore, a “big” video game is also being worked on for the PS4. You can check out his statement below (courtesy of Gematsu and Push Square):
In order to appeal the broadened PlayStation Vita market to younger consumers, we’re planning development on a new large scale intellectual property. Of course, we’re preparing a big title for the PlayStation 4 as well, so please look forward to it.
The aforementioned PS4 title is rumored to be a spiritual successor to “Demon’s Souls,” a PS3 exclusive that was released in North America in 2009. The action role-playing game was developed by From Software with additional support provided from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Studio.
Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of “Dark Souls” and “Demon’s Souls,” is speculated to be involved in the project in some ways. From Software is currently busy with developing “Dark Souls 2,” which is coming out for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in North America on March 11th.
