Americans are known for having short memories and repeating the same mistakes because of their crisis mentality. Even the flyover by Air Force One over New York, causing people to flee out of buildings in panic, was forgotten the next day.
Even as the Central Intelligence Agency (C.I.A.) is being destroyed by the Democrats apparently President Obama is getting the message from military leaders: back off!
Obama's sudden change of heart about not releasing the enhanced interrogation pictures is evidence that he is beginning to get it. And so are the terrorists, who have cells all over the world, including in the United States. It is no longer a case of where the next terrorist attack will take place, but rather when and how many Americans will be killed.
The Democrats, with their political vendetta against Bush, are putting the lives of Americans in danger. But apparently Obama followers would rather give encouragement to the terrorists than face the reality that an invitation is being sent to the followers of Al Qaeda, whether their leader is dead or alive, that the agencies whose job is to root them out are being dismantled by the very leaders who should be supporting their efforts to avoid another terrorist attack.
House Speaker Pelosi may be the first victim as she has become an albatross around the necks of Democrats. Even the fawning left-wing press is beginning to admit that she is a liar and beginning to ridicule her behavior.
However, for Obama it is too little, too late, as the die is cast. The attack on the CIA and other agencies that are trying to protect America by the Democrats may have opened a door that now cannot be closed. It is called unintended consequences and in the long run, instead of destroying Bush, may ruin the Presidency of Barack Obama.
