Democrats, unions spread unrest to Ohio over collective bargaining

Not content with fomenting unrest in Wisconsin, the Democratic National Committee, through the President's own campaign arm Organizing for America, is helping to spread chaos in Ohio and Indiana.

Amanda Terkel writes at The Huffington Post:

A DNC staffer told The Huffington Post that the group upped its efforts in Wisconsin after Chairman Tim Kaine spoke with local legislators last week. OFA then began organizing turnout for Thursday's statehouse rally and running phone banks in Ohio targeting state senators, which are slated to continue next week. This weekend, organizers have set up door-to-door canvassing in key districts that they hope will likewise put pressure on swing lawmakers.

Reginald Fields writes at the Cleveland Plain Dealer that up to 3,800 protesters descended on that state's capital protesting a bill similar to the one in Wisconsin.

Fields also mentioned role being played by national Democrats:

President Barack Obama's campaign group Organizing For America is supporting Wisconsin union workers and is now gearing up to help workers in Ohio and Indiana, whose legislature is considering a bill to limit collective bargaining by teachers, according to the Democratic National Committee.

Ohio Republicans are trying to keep the state from going bankrupt, a situation similar to the one faced by Wisconsin lawmakers.

The AFL-CIO is also helping in the effort to generate unrest, as it did in Wisconsin.  AFL-CIO protesters surrounded the home of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, forcing police to close off the street.

According to a post at Miami County Liberty, some Ohio legislators were subjected to the same treatment:

We visited Sen. Bill Beagle and Rep. Dick Adams.  They thanked us for our support.  Sen. Beagle said that some representative’s homes have been picketed and harassed.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Andy Richards, field communications director for the Ohio AFL-CIO, explained "the protests have helped re-energize a base frustrated by the November elections."

That point was made clear when Patrick McIlhern wrote at the Mikwaukee Journal-Sentinel:

Union activists in Madison Tuesday spoke apocalyptically of "class war," hinting wildly at general strikes and takeovers of the Capitol. They correctly see their control of the state slipping and must figure that if they bring 13,000 shouting people to Madison, they can overrule the election.

Fields writes at the Plain Dealer that the Ohio protests, while loud, were basically peaceful and included a "smaller group of tea party activists" who supported Governor Kasich's efforts.

But a post at The Blaze tells a somewhat different story.

According to Jonathon M. Seidl, Tea Party activists were allegedly subjected to "angry verbal abuse" and were compared to Nazis.  So much for "civility."

Seidl quotes Ted Lyons, a local Tea Party leader:

“The labor unions have become so powerful now on a worldwide basis,” Lyons said. “It’s beyond just the benefits of the membership, it’s about all the spending.”

Imagine the outrage that would be leveled at Republicans if the National GOP orchestrated Tea Party events.  At what point will Americans stand and tell the Democratic National Committee it is not their job to incite riots?

I told my kid to keep her phone charged (but off in school) just in case she has to call me so that teachers, if they even think of pulling a cheese-head move, decide to take a trip to Columbus, I can go straight the police station to get an escort down there to get my child!

If they won't do anything about it, they will also be named in the lawsuit I will file. I don't care if I win, that won't be the only goal~ I will be heard over their gimme gimme roar whether they like it or not!
