Rep. Mike Coffman of Colorado's 6th congressional district very much loves America and isn't afraid to say so. He believes in our sovereignty and that our founding philosophy of freedom and in governing by 'we the people' has made us an exceptional nation.
Last year he found himself in the middle of controversy because of the following comment at a "lower taxes, less government" fundraiser,
"I don't know whether Barack Obama was born in the United States of America. I don't know that. But I do know this, that in his heart, he's not an American. He's just not an American."
He later apologized for his part of the comment in not knowing where Obama was born,
"I misspoke and I apologize. I have confidence in President Obama's citizenship and legitimacy as President of the United States."
And then he further explained,
"I don't believe the president shares my belief in American Exceptionalism. His policies reflect a philosophy that America is but one nation among many equals. As a Marine, I believe America is unique and based on a core set of principles that make it superior to other nations."
Liberals think the comments are "extreme," "radical," and "outrageous;" and they are calling him a birther, though Coffman has never called for questioning the legitimacy of Obama's presidency.

Corruption charges
In 2008, Coffman was accused of corruption by ACLU because of 6,400 voter registration forms improperly marked "incomplete," (no box checked on the form).
Common Cause ("dedicated to restoring the core values of American democracy") filed suit against Coffman to which Coffman responded that the secretary of state's office correctly applied the law.
A settlement was reached under his successor Bernie Buescher who explained that when all voting records from Colorado counties were put together, there were 5.7 million voter records, almost double the number of residents in Colorado. Many were from inactive voters or were duplicates so Coffman began deleting the duplicate active files.
See Colorado Secretary of State Buescher: Voting rolls were merged, not purged "We should be every bit as concerned about a person voting twice as a person being allowed to vote once."
2014, Watch for Democrat shenanigans against Coffman as part of their efforts to take over the House
After redistricting made the 6th district more favorable to the Democrats and after Coffman's last win was narrow, he is now considered a weak incumbent and prime target for defeat in 2014.

Obama: Constitution is 'deeply flawed'
"The people of faith I know don't 'cling to' religion because they're bitter. People embrace faith not because they are materially poor, but because they are spiritually rich." -- Hillary Clinton, 2008 rally in Indianapolis.
"The Holy Koran tells us, "O mankind! We have created you male and a female; and we have made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another." -- Barack Obama (source), who thinks America is a country which should cease in its arrogance toward the rest of the world. He also believes that religious people in America are religious because they are bitter.
Is Barack Obama Anti-American? "This uniquely American precept, one that sees the power of government flowing from the people rather than controlling the people, ideally results in a situation in which citizens are subject to minimal government constraints. As the Founders envisioned American government, the state exists to optimize individual freedoms, not to control the individual." .... 'Barack Obama stands out as the first American president whose every instinct is contrary to America's essence. At home, every single one of his initiatives is directed at increasing government control in every area, with a corresponding decrease in individual liberty...." from American Thinker
