If Americans had some idea that Democrats and Obama were concerned about the possibility of another 9/11 attack by terrorists, that is being dispelled by their embrace of Pelosi as she is allowed to tear down one of the organizations that works to avoid it.
To CIA Director's Leon Panetta credit, at least he stood up for the CIA and the men and women whose job it is provide national security and avoid the deaths of thousands of Americans that terrorists are just waiting for a chance to inflect on them.
Obama seems to be straddling the fence because he needs Pelosi to push through his taxing and spending programs and knows that Panetta would not have the courage to resign unless Pelosi apologized or took back her accusation that the CIA "liest to Congress all the time."
To those who still think that the Democrats have any concerns about Pelosi trying to destroy the CIA to protect her lies, just listening to White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs at press briefings hemming and hawing, it should be a wake up call.
For Americans who doubt what can happen when the U.S. deserts those who try to protect its national security, they only need to look back to the 1990's, when the U.S. had a Democratic president who, along with a Republican Congress, weakened the intelligence agencies, crippling them. The result was bombing of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania because there was a lack of intelligence. While 9/11 happened on George Bush's watch, the actions that were taken by Bill Clinton opened the door for it.
Pelosi and Obama have emboldened terrorists, both around the world and those creating cells in the U.S. If CIA agents, many of them who put their own lives on the line to protect America, can be belittled by House Speaker Pelosi and elected Democrats defend her, they should be prepared to accept the blame for weakening the agency to the point that our enemies will be free to carry out another terrorist attack.
