Demi Moore is still looking like a scorned woman more than a year after splitting with husband Ashton Kutcher, and he began a relationship with actress Mila Kunis. Although Demi edges her former hubby in terms of net worth by about $10 million, that isn’t stopping her from going after his equally deep pocket, according to a Showbiz Spy report today. Demi is seeking spousal support in newly filed divorce papers. Of course Ashton Kutcher has reportedly raked in a lot more cash than Moore over the course of their six year marriage.
Insiders say there’s no way Demi will ever be awarded spousal support by a judge, lending to speculation that she’s asking for it as a form of revenge. The words “bad husband” are being bandied about, and the request for support is being seen as a leverage tool.
The more Demi asks for in the divorce from Ashton at the outset, the more she’s likely to get in the end. Think of setting the asking price when you put your house on the market, it’s a similar principle. Only it would seem Moore is willing to go to the mat with her asking price and hash this out more publicly.
A source said recently that, “Demi is tired of trying to reach a confidential settlement with Kutcher, and that the couple’s divorce could go to a trial”. Celebritynetworth.com reports Demi’s worth at $150 million and Ashton’s at $140 million.
But Kutcher is earning $24 million per year as the highest paid actor on TV right now for his role as Charlie Sheen’s replacement on “Two and a Half Men”. He’s also reported to have made a bundle investing in multiple tech start-ups.
TMZ claims Demi Moore won’t get spousal support from Ashton Kutcher because, “Short story…she doesn't need it and she won't get it”. A source says Demi is, “definitely ready to move on”, while also claiming, “Ashton has been very difficult during the talks”.
Divorce documents list “irreconcilable differences” as the official reason for the marriage dissolution, but Hollyscoop reports Demi has proof of Ashton cheating, but not with Mila Kunis.
Still, Moore apparently greatly resents the fact that Kutcher moved on so fast and is in a happy relationship. Also the fact that Aston and Mila have at the very least a professional connection in the past, it raises more questions.
If the two can’t reach a settlement in the next few months, sources say Demi is prepared to go into litigation and trial. Sounds like she has a hand to play?
