Hollywood A-list duo Ashton Kutcher and wife Demi Moore have started the Demi and Ashton Foundation (DNA) to combat the buying and selling of women and children for sex slavery.
Speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative, Moore and Kutcher recruited men to make videos showing things that "real men" do like this video of Brandon Gabler shaving with a knife. Kutcher's voiceover says, "Real men like a close shave. Real men don't buy girls."
In their speech at the Initiative, Kutcher says, "The unfortunate truth is there are more slaves in the world today than ever before in human history. There are 27 million slaves in the world today...the CIA estimated that there are a million slaves in the United States of America Today."
However their newest campaign "Real Men Don't Buy Girls" has been condemned for being too irreverant a campaign as it uses humor to combat the very serious problem of sex slavery.
What do you think? Is it appropriate to use humor to speak out against sex slavery? Or is this truly a tasteless campaign?
