Demi Lovato, reality star from “The X Factor” receives a totally different kind of gift for her 21st birthday. While most young kids want to experience their first legal alcoholic drink, Demi received a living, breathing goat for hers. Demi is a volunteer with the Free The Children organization in Kenya. In order for the people of Kenya to show their appreciation, they gave her the customary gift of a goat.
Demi was so happy with the gift that she tweeted about in on Twitter. She wrote,” So big deal or anything but... One of Maasai communities gave me a GOAT for my birthday!!!!!! I named him billy."
Free The Children started in 1999, and it is an organization that helps build schools and schoolrooms. The Kenya government has pledged to maintain the schools, hire the staff, the teachers and provide the necessary materials. Demi wanted to make a difference when she turned 21, so she signed up to volunteer her services with the Free The Children program. While she was there, she not only helped build a school , she lent her services to different communities in the area.
Demi plans to be back for the third season of The X Factor’s judging panel. This will be her second season on the panel where she’ll join Simon Cowell, Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio.
