The week of Valentine's Day 2013, Demi Lovato was busy promoting the grand opening of Topshop Topman in Los Angeles at The Grove shopping center. On Feb. 14, she performed at the store's grand opening. On Feb. 13, she attended the Topshop/Topman party at Cecconi's in West Hollywood, Calif. And, as previously reported, she and girl group Fifth Harmony did a promotional appearance at the store on Feb. 12. (Fifth Harmony came in third place on "The X Factor" U.S. in 2012. The group was also at the Topshop opening on Feb. 14 but did not perform.)
At her Topshop Topman store performance, Lovato sang "Give Your Heart a Break." The Topshop Topman party was attended by numerous celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Ryan Seacrest, Julianne Hough, Derek Hough, Nicole Scherzinger (who is a judge on "The X Factor" U.K.), Chris Brown, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson, Lionel Richie, Jane Seymour, Paris Hilton, Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, Kate Bosworth, LaToya Jackson, Emma Roberts, Kevin McHale, Miranda Cosgrove and Tommy Hilfiger.
Lovato, 20, became a judge on "The X Factor" U.S. in May 2012. It has not been announced yet if she will continue to be a judge on the show in 2013. In an interview with "Extra" that aired on Feb. 13, 2013, she said: "I'm focusing on my music this year, so it's going to be a lot of touring, a lot of promoting of my album … but I would love to. Obviously, if they asked for me to come back, I'd say yes.”
The complete judging panel "The X Factor" U.S. in 2013 has not been announced yet. On "The X Factor" U.S., executive producer Simon Cowell is the only judge guaranteed so far in 2013. Britney Spears and Antonio "L.A." Reid have announced their departures from "The X Factor" U.S., and their replacements have not yet been named.
The 2013 judging panel for the show should be officially announced by May, which is the month that auditions begin in front of the judges. "X Factor" producers, not the judges, make the selections at auditions that happen before the selected contestants go on to audition in front of the judges.
At the Topshop Topman party on Feb. 13, Lovato was seen hanging out with her on-again/off-again boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama, who is 33. When "Extra" asked her what her Valentine's Day plans would be, Lovato shrugged and said, "I don't know." When she was asked if she has a special man in her life, she avoided answering the question and mentioned that she wished the reporter could hear her new single. Lovato has said in recent interviews that she's not interested in having a serious boyfriend since she wants to focus on her career and her ongoing recovery from substance abuse, eating disorders and self-harming. She has been very open about talking about her addictions in several interviews.
That new single is "Heart Attack," which goes on sale on March 4, 2013. The premiere date of the "Heart Attack" music is to be announced. In the meantime, a trailer for "Heart Attack" has been released on Lovato's official YouTube channel.
In January 2013, Lovato (who is signed to Hollywood Records) tweeted that she has been recording her fourth album, whose title and release date are to be announced.
As previously reported, Lovato is one of the stars participating in CBS's "The Price Is Right" Celebrity Week that will be televised from February 18 to February 22, 2013. The celebrities on the game show are playing for their selected charities. Lovato's "Price Is Right" episode airs on February 22, 2013. She is playing for the charity Free the Children.
She also has two concerts scheduled for March 2013: Universal Studios Orlando in Florida on March 2 and Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila, Philippines on March 20.
Feb. 20, 2013 update: Lovato and Valderrama are apparently dating again. According to Us Weekly, they were seen having a romantic dinner together on Valentine's Day at Takami Sushi & Robata Restaurant in Los Angeles. An eyewitness told Us Weekly: "They ordered almost everything on the menu, but they didn't touch it for at least an hour. They stared into each other's eyes the whole time."
During their dinner, the couple had a "really intense conversation" and engaged in plenty of "cuddling." A source also told Us Weekly that Lovato and Valderrama were also seen "making out" earlier that day at the Topshop Topman grand opening.
