Georgia Tech wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has broken his foot and will not be able to take part in drills at next week’s NFL scouting combine since he will need 4-6 weeks to recover and rehabilitate the injury.
Thomas’ agent says it was a clean break but it is not known if he will be able to work out for team prior to the draft. It seems likely that the Scouting Combine is out, but Thomas’ agent believes he will be able to take part in any team activities later in the spring.
Many have Thomas rated in the top ten of their wide out prospects for the 2010 draft. I’m a lot little lower on him than most, but by consensus he seems to fit within the top 12 of wide out prospects entering the 2010 Draft. This injury should not affect his draft stock all that much, and at the moment he projects as a 2nd to 4th round pick.
