Deltona man killed in Deland-area shooting Tuesday

A Deltona man died after a shooting in southwest Deland Tuesday, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s spokesperson Brandon Haught says 25-year old Antwan Harris “…had been dropped off at Florida Hospital Deland with a gunshot wound” late Tuesday evening. Harris was pronounced dead shortly before midnight. Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Investigators say the shooting took place in the 900 block of South Parsons Avenue. They are also asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 386-736-5999 or at Crimestoppers of Northeast Florida toll-free at 888-277-TIPS. You can also text tips to CRIMES, using TIP231 in your message. The Sheriff’s Office says information provided to Crimestoppers is kept anonymous and may quality for a reward of up to $1000.
