Volusia County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for a man who held up a convenience store in Deltona Friday night. Volusia County Sheriff’s spokesperson Gary Davidson says the armed man escaped with “…some cigarettes and an undetermined amount of money…” from the Kangaroo Express on Doyle Road. No one was injured in the incident shortly before 9:30 p.m. Friday.
Volusia County Sheriff’s Deputies were on the scene three minutes after the robbery was reported, and used K-9 units to search for the man, who had fled from the store eastbound heading toward Saxon Boulevard. However, deputies said he may have been running to an awaiting getaway car in the area. The store clerk said the man had pointed a gun at him and demanded cigarettes and cash.
The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male, wearing dark pants, a dark hoodie-type sweater, gloves, and a bandana over his face.
