Another double-digit bass was caught today on the Delta. Anglers John House and River2Sea pro Stanley Lafever found a 10 and an eight pounder today on a fun fishing trip through the Middle Delta. "We got them about 30-minutes apart on the first part of the incoming," said Lafever. "We fished for about five hours this afternoon and got six fish. It's absolutely not wide-open out here; but with the upcoming full moon and the warming temperatures, I think the first, big wave of spawners will be up soon."
House reeled in the biggest with a black and red jig in less than one-foot of water. Lafever claimed the eight using a prototype River2Sea jig in black and blue. All but one of their fish were tempted by jigs. One hit a chatterbait. The fish were found around deeper tules as they targeted shallow pockets near points, adjacent to deep water staging areas.
Per request the River2Sea prototype jig was blocked out in the photo.
The incoming tide hit their area prior to 1 p.m. To check tide tables in your area, visit this website.
