The Delta Dental Winter Zoo begins January 29, 2012 at the St. Louis Zoo. This exciting event provides fun activities for kids and promotes good health while reminding families that there is still plenty to see and do at the St. Louis Zoo during the winter months.
On Sundays through February 19th, Delta Dental Health Theatre will be taking over the Anheuser-Busch Theater in The Living World building, so that they may bring children their wonderful Land of Smiles show. Delta Dental employs characters such as the Tooth Wizard, P.A.N.D.A and Jumpin' Jacamo in an interactive theater show for kids. During the show, kids will learn how to brush their teeth correctly, how to choose healthy foods and why exercise is important all while laughing at the funny antics of the Tooth Wizard and his friends as they try to defeat PlaqueMan.
The Land of Smiles show will take place each Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and again at 3:00 p.m.* Children in attendance will receive a goodie bag filled with dental supplies such as toothbrush, dental floss, healthy habits coloring pages and more.
Once Delta Dental gets your kids smiling, it will be time to head outdoors for a little fun with the zookeepers. Each Sunday at 2:00 p.m., if the temperature outside falls below 50 degrees, zookeepers will escort the adorable penguins outside and take them on a 30 minute walk near the Penguin & Puffin Coast. Kids and parents can join in the penguin parade, so be sure to bring your camera and capture all the fun.
The Delta Dental Winter Zoo and the penguin parade are free, as is admission to the St. Louis Zoo. During the Delta Dental Winter Zoo Sundays, Radio Disney will also be on hand to spin kids' favorite tunes, play some games and give out prizes.
*Parents should note that there will be no 3:00 p.m. Delta Dental Land of Smiles show on February 19th.
